More memory means more temporary storage for your computing processes, thus you will be able to compute more, faster. As far as size goes; 128MB is the minimum if you're running Windows 95, 98 or ME; 256MB is the bare minimum if you're running Windows 2000 or XP; 512MB is the minimum amount of memory if you're running Windows Vista. Running the bare minimum means you're only achieving a fraction of the power from the processor. It is our opinion that you should be running DOUBLE the bare minimum listed above. This means 256MB if you're using Windows 95, 98 or ME, or 512MB if you're using Windows 2000 or XP, and 1GB (1024MB) if you're using Vista.
